Congress Venue

The 7th International Crop Science Congress will be held at Beijing International Convention Center (BICC), located close to the main venue of 2008 Olympic Games. BICC adjoins highways with ideal geographical location and all-round accessibility. Beijing Capital International Airport is 25 km to the east, while the historical Tian'anmen Square is 9 km to the south. 10 km to the west is the Summer Palace, and 80 km to the north is the Great Wall. Hotels of various classes are within walking distance.

Climate

Beijing in mid August is hot. The average temperature in August is about 24°C, with the high reaching 36°C and low at 12.3°C. The rainfall in the month is around 240mm. T-shirts, short sleeve shirts, skirts, sandals, and caps are suitable to wear. Since rains are common in this season, an umbrella is needed.

Arrival

All flights arrive at Beijing Capital International Airport, which is 30 kilometers from town, and is served by major international airline companies. Airport bus shuttles connect the airport to different parts of downtown Beijing, including Beijing International Convention Center. But the most convenient way is to take a taxi at the taxi stand; the cost is around 120 Chinese yuan.

Visa Requirements

All visitors to China, except Japanese participants staying in China for no more than 15 days, must have a valid visa to travel to and enter China. Visas can be obtained from your local Chinese Embassy or the nearest Consulate General. An official visa invitation letter will be sent to the participants by China International Conference Center for Science and Technology upon receipt of your registration and passport data, through online registration, after May 15, 2016.

Liability & Insurance

The Congress organizers do not accept any liability for personal accidents or loss or damage to the private property of any participants during the Congress or indirectly arising from attending the Congress. It is advisable that participants should purchase adequate travel and health insurances before leaving their own countries.

Upon request, the Congress Secretariat will send a personal invitation to participants. This invitation is meant only to help participants to raise travel funds, and is not a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any financial support.
